John McCain should be ashamed of himself, partly because he is

such a fake maverick and right wing tool in general, but more particularly because he knows the bill the Arizona Legislature drafted and passed and which Gov. Brewer signed is polarizing, pointlessly controversial, vulnerable to court challenge, vicious in temperament, likely to be misused and abused, has bigotry at its heart, and will generate chaos and economic strain for many citizens in his state.

If I did not have much respect for McCain in the first place I have a whole lot less for him now. Where is his voice?

27. You know something? I saw that back when that book came out, and I've never been able

to get that out of my mind. And his quotes, too, about how he felt he SHOULD be president, but never gave a strong reason why - as in: I thought I had some of the best ideas or the simplest solutions or I'd figured out a way to do something with less taxpayers' money or I felt I could communicate with other warring factions in ways we hadn't seen - because of my background or I spoke the language or I'd lived there for awhile or I brought a perspective that hadn't been represented before or SOMETHING. ANYTHING.

Anything OTHER than - well, my dad and grandpa were both star students and rose to the rank of admiral and well, I needed to go one better than they did to prove my own worth and earn a competitive place in the family hierarchy. Or - I felt I could BE president.

It was like with george bush senior - when he was asked what he planned to do or if there was an urgent priority he wanted to tackle in particular if voters granted him a second term and his answer was - "oh, whatever comes up." OKAY - I'd like my ship to be steered with a little more vision and deliberate, direct intention than that, y'know? More than just a shrug and a casual - "oh, whatever comes up." WHATEVER COMES UP??????????

It's all their birthright complex. They think they own the place because, well, just - because. Because of who they are and the fact that they suck air off our planet, 'cause they're supposed to. World's Biggest Entitlement Program. The attitude of republi-CONS everywhere that they simply own the White House and the right to rule and the first place at the head table and all the say-so. Just because. Because it's their due, and their birthright. They're simply just ENTITLED to it.

And I say NO THEY'RE FUCKING NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For john mcsame, it was always all about entitlement, not necessarily capability - ESPECIALLY for someone who bragged about being so low-ranking in his class and such a poor student and basic pampered indulged rich-boy flake.

He divorced his wife after she had an accident which left her a bit disfigured. He married money and got his start in politics with the help of a political machine. I almost feel sorry for him. He doesn't even to be aware of what he is doing. He's erratic and has changed dramatically since he was infected with Palinism, a right wing version of botulism. From the moment he selected her (or others selected for him) McCain began going downhill. He used to have some moments where he displayed real courage and original thought. But now he is bending to every mutant right wing breeze that comes his way. It would be interesting to see a debate between the McCain of today and the McCain of a few years ago, or even a pre-Palin McCain. Since that Alaskan bimbo entered his life McCain has been steadily gone downhill. And if he was somehow elected, I don't know if our country could have survived.

I almost feel sorry for him, until I realize if he had won in 2008 this country would be toast. I could not imagine a more destructive and dangerous duo than McCain and Palin. It seems laughable they were even considered for the republican presidential and vice presidential nominees. Has there ever been a more pathetic set of candidates in American history? I don't think so. Conservatives seem eager to vote for anyone regardless of their competency. Hell, they all lapped up every one of Bush's words.

The religious right freaks regularly say natural calamities like earthquakes and hurricanes are God's retaliation against the behavior of people. It looks like that same 'God' spared us from the worst political calamity in the history of the United States, McCain & Palin...
