Arizona republicans should take a lesson from the British National Party. Getting rid of "illegal
immigrants" is only the beginning of the battle.

"The BNP’s policy is to:

- Deport all the two million plus who are here illegally;

- Deport all those who commit crimes and whose original nationality was not British;

- Review all recent grants of residence or citizenship to ensure they are still appropriate;

- Offer generous grants to those of foreign descent resident here who wish to leave permanently;

- Stop all new immigration except for exceptional cases;

- Reject all asylum seekers who passed safe countries on their way to Britain."

http://bnp.org.uk/policies/immigration/

The BNP is not only against illegal immigration, it wants to stop all immigration, review previous grants of citizenship or permanent residency, and offer to pay those of "foreign descent" to voluntarily repatriate themselves. Something tells me that if the BNP comes to power the "voluntary" part of the repatriation might just be subject to change.

Their stance on immigration is consistent with their goal: "The BNP seeks to restore the overwhelmingly white ethnicity of Britain that existed prior to 1948 through legal means, including "firm but voluntary incentives for immigrants and their descendants to return home", and the repeal of anti-discrimination legislation.

Perhaps Arizona's tea baggers should go back to their republican legislature and governor and complain that they haven't gone far enough with the new law. They need to also stop new legal immigration, review the status of those legal immigrants who already live in the state and figure out a way to "repatriate" those of "foreign descent". It would be hard for the legislature and governor to say "NO" to that. If they refuse the tea baggers just have to threaten to call them "liberals".

3. They don't have the guts to take up policy like this
As radical as the bill that was just signed is, it's about as far as they'll go, because they still want to pretend they aren't racist. The BNP is flat out honest about what they are and don't try to hide it, the GOP, not so much.

4. Whoa! This is good to know! I had not heard of the BNP before - thanks for posting this.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if this idea catches on with the yahoo contingent here. 'Course, I bring this up to my husband and say - "I wonder if the Arizona republi-CONS know about this." And he says - "Know about them? Hell, they're probably studying them!" As usual, he's probably correct.

And I'm sure they would if they haven't already. What better to validate their own efforts than to look around and see the same bullshit taking route elsewhere - especially as it's elevated to formalized political party status in the UK.

6. in any civilized country, the Republicans would be viewed as dangerous neo-fascists
This OP just proves it - the BNP sounds just like mainstream Republican thought on immigration

7. Not so sure that it's mainstream repub thought yet, but it is where the tea party and far right
would like to see them go. Doesn't look like there is anything to stop them now.

First you go after the illegal immigrants, then stop legal immigration, then "review" the immigrants who have become citizens then "repatriation" can begin.
