My plants believe in global warming. My 7' barberry is completely covered with leaves,
and has had birds nesting in it for several weeks now. our rose bush is budding, had had full leaves for 3 weeks. AND our fig is at least 3 weeks early with fully formed leaves and HUNDREDS of small figs alreadygrowing - I just pruned it this morning, and can not believe it - we don't usually get fruit starting till near June, pick in mid August through the end of September.
I believe we will get figs in late June - early July, and at least double the 15 pounds we pick every season.

This and the terrible pollen/allergies that seems to be everywhere prove climate change to me.

3. we're right on target (maybe a bit late) in Oklahoma...
but the pollen has been so freakin' unbearable, i had allergy-related swollen tonsils!
i tell you what, though, the jet stream is so high up in the US that we might not get many thunderstorms this spring. lame.

The Flowers,Birds and These...

Let the Jet Stream stay where it is! The last thing we want are 'Spring Thunderstorms" that resemble this!

7. This year seems about right on time
in Philadelphia. Maybe a week or two early for azaleas (I have one in bloom but the others should hit even closer to May 1st).

Last year with that 60-70 degree patch in early Jan. everything got thrown off. Several plants started to grow new leaves and then got hit with a brutal cold snap. Very little new growth last season because they didn't have enough stored energy to try again during the spring. This year I am hoping things proceed a little more normally.
