1. No thanks, we have enough nut jobs here already. we don't need the likes
of pecker to lead the nuts.

2. That would be pretty unfair to Texas.
I have a better idea. We keep the USA whole, remind the secessionists that they lost the Civil War and expect that every American will make an effort to be a good citizen of the USA.

16. Talk about a hopeless and undesirable effort. Too many libs continue to think that
it is possible to come to any sort of agreement with the enemy. So, they give in and give away any chance at progress to placate those who will never come around.

Would it not be better to allow people to live under laws of their own choosing? Certainly not on a nation-wide level because of the chasm of difference between the two sides.

But I see nothing wrong with letting some of the slave states go away and create their teabag utopia. How is that any different than having states operate under different laws?

3. Would Austin turn into something akin to West Berlin?
Will we need to have Austin Airlifts that bring organic food, arugula and volvos?

Will Obama proclaim "Ich bin Austinite, yall!"?

35. Obama won the city of Austin / Travis County in 2008
In the 2008 presidential election Obama got over 3.5 MILLION votes here in Texas.
Although Obama did not win the full state of Texas, Obama DID WIN the cities/counties of Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, etc. all the major large cities except for Ft. Worth.

Texas is turning BLUE :)

And that is a lifestyle more akin to California than it is Texas...

39. Heh
Send 'em down. They'll have popgun blueballs in no time. Compared to other large cities, El Paso is as safe as milk.

It'd be worth it to see their pink faces when they land in a sea of brown -- we're 70+% Hispanic down here. Democratic-voting Hispanic. They can have a skeerdy-cat Teabagger Militiamen compound where we'll keep an eye on them, free of charge. It'll be fun.

26. Love This Plan. Sorry, Texas Liberals. Better Get Out While the Gettin's Good.
I know, I know...it sucks that you have to move. But won't it be worth it to live in, say, New Mexico or Oklahoma, or somewhere where the surroundings are pretty much the same, except you DON'T have shitty redneck neighbors?

Seriously, it's a win-win scenario.
