Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is gaining attention as one of the faces of the national Tea Party movement, but Tarryl Clark says it’s time for someone to get things done in Minnesota’s 6th Congressional District instead.

Clark, a state senator from St. Cloud, said she is challenging the incumbent Bachmann for the 6th District U.S. House seat because she wants to make government work for the people of her district. She won the DFL party endorsement in the race in March.

Clark has raised more than $505,000 so far in 2010, more money in the first quarter of an election year than any Minnesota candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in more than a decade.

.....

Clark needs your support! I've known her to be quite a fighter in past elections, even touring the state on behalf of other candidates (such as Al Franken). Learn more about her at her site and donate if you can. She's a fighter and deserves our support: https://secure.tarrylclark.com/page/contribute

Note: DFL (Democratic-Farmer-Labor) is Minnesota's Democratic Party.

3. I recall an attempt some years ago....
....to dump the Farmer/ Labor part of the name! Based, of course on some kinda Clintonesque, DLC claptrap about farmers and laborers not being appropriate symbols of our beautiful "post-industrial" society.

I was ready to simply move out of Minnesota at that point.

From Wikipedia:
The Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) is a major political party in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It was created on April 15, 1944 when the Minnesota Democratic Party and the Farmer–Labor Party merged. Hubert Humphrey was instrumental in this merger. The party is affiliated with the national Democratic Party. Both members of the party and non-members in Minnesota often use "DFLer" instead of "Democrat".<1>

Michelle Bachmann is batshit crazy.

Seriously, she is.

8. Michelle Bachmann is receiving major funds nationwide (which is why she's touring the country)...
She knows she's in a fight this year because she's largely been MIA from congressional votes and AWOL from her district. Tarryl Clark will need the generosity of reason-minded people across the country to keep pace.

11. Whatever Michelle Bachmann's beliefs...
...it's clear as crystal she's just using her position in Congress for her own ends, as opposed to representing the interests of her district. By her own admission, she hasn't done a thing for her constituency.

I like what I've heard from Tarryl Clark. She's down to Earth, sensible, rational, and isn't that a refreshing change. I'm rooting for her.

12. But will the mouth-breathing voters in that district get it?
If they were dumb enough to re-elect Bachmann in '08, then I have little hope for '10.

Regardless of that -- GO TARRYL CLARK! Minnesota needs to be unshackled from the embarrassing Bachmann and her toxic stupidity.

14. Tinkelburg was only in it for himself.
He's a professional self promoter. Think Donald Trump with better hair and less money.

Taryl Clark is the real deal. I've met her and watched her career since the city council days. She's legit.

And she needs our help. Think of it this way, for evey dollar old batshit crazy bachmann has to spend here, it is one less dollar a cash strapped RNC has to spend anywhere. This election could shift the balance in elections across the nation due to the amount of money that is going to be spent on it. And wouldn't it be sweet if we could bankrupt the RNC and elect someone we can respect as well.

So if you think that Minnesota can produce great politician like Sen. AL Franken, the dearly departed Sen. Wellstone, or Rep Keith Ellison then send Taryl a few bucks. She's cut from the progressive cloth and beleives in good government.
