Bush to be removed from ‘Welcome to Texas’ signs.

“Two years after writing a law requiring highway ‘Welcome to Texas’ signs to tout the state as the home of President Bush, state Rep. Ken Paxton passed a bill that will remove the designation once the 43rd president leaves office.”

4. THANK GOD
I always get nauseated when I return from the out-of-state casino and see his name coming home.

7. Imagine my disgust, en route to Crawford in 05, at seeing the
GWB Highway. And now, right around the corner from here, is the Laura Bush Elementary School. :eyes:

6. Stop-gap measure: Remove the word "Proud."
When Bush was governor that sign said..."Drive Friendly...Or We'll Execute You."

11. Or "Humiliated"?
I can't imagine admitting that the Chimp is from my own area, much less being proud of it!

8. And so it goes
"I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said:—Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things,
The hand that mock'd them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away."

10. Has New Haven taken the signs down yet????
Welcome to New Haven. The birthplace of George W. Bush. It was off I-95.

When my daughter played hockey in Connecticut, we used to drive by it all the time. She used to yell out the window, "you STINK", when she saw it. Embarrassing, but true. lol

When she became eligible to vote, she cast her first vote for John Kerry. No surprise there.

:)
