I Missed The Latest Palinism
Did she actually encourage folks to harass people with Obama stickers on their cars?

Is she a lunatic?

Anybody with an I Q > room temperature knows that if you harass strangers for their opinions, regardless of what those opinions are and how they choose to express them, you will eventually provoke a violent response.

1. I think it's more of an experiment to test what kind of effect she has with her "suggestions".
Sort of tea party's Howard Beale ("Go to your window, open it, and yell out 'I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take anymore!'").

2. Likely Scenario
Mr. X has an Obama sticker on his car. Mr. Y harasses him for having said sticker. Mr. Y tells Mr. X to f--k off. Mr. X hits Mr. Y. Mr. Y hits him back. The police come and arrest both of them.

4. And
What if the person says "It's working great. How is that fill in the blank you have for a husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend, working for you?"

I don't think it's wise counsel in twenty first century America to advise folks to "rattle stranger's cages".

7. Like everything Palin says, it's too vague to be of any utility.
She didn't really tell her followers to stop cars, or to accost drivers at gunpoint. If she'd said "ask" instead of "stop," we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Her diction has never been good.

16. "You should stop the driver and say..." sounds pretty straight forward to me
now maybe she was speaking figuratively and not literally, but still, coming from her, it is worth noting.

29. Deceptively so.
It's easy to mistake her babbling for plain speech. I think it's just a limited vocabulary at work, powered by not so much grey matter.

When the rest of us stop people on the street, it isn't presumed that we're doing so at gunpoint. It's only if we assume Palin capable of holding a thought in her head that this sounds sinister.

She's not purposefully advocating violent revolution; she just knows her followers love guns--and so we mistakenly view everything she says in that light.

26. "how's that hopey changy thing going" is just the meanest, most negative (and vague) shoot-down of
others' optimism and efforts to try and do something positive. I detest her.

9. What scares me is that I DO in fact drive a Subaru. Are liberals prone to drive
Subarus, is that why she picked that car? I am a coward. I haven't put any stickers on my car beyond the Army one that is kind of mandatory if you are an Army spouse. I'm actually afraid of being vandalized or being run off the road. Now when Palin said that, I thought, oh, man, people will probably vandalize my car just because it's a Subaru - they will be able to guess I'm a liberal....

I admire people who are brave enough to have bumper stickers on their cars. I really just am not brave enough in this climate.

No - of course they lack bravery. BUT they are seeking approval from the fox/limbaugh crowd with their cowardly actions.

Yes - it is responsible behavior to take care around these neanderthals.

17. I feel guilty that I'm not brave enough to stand up to them, but I'm pushing 50, have some
health problems, and I'm just not as strong as I used to be, either physically or mentally. I used to be a liberated type of woman, I jumped out of airplanes in the Army and went to war just like the men, but I'm not the same person I once was. I think I've gotten old rather fast, and I have a lot of fear and anxiety.

I do feel guilty that I'm not fighting the good fight and standing up to these thugs. I appreciate the people who are brave enough to do so.

32. Some of these wussies
are fucking lunatics, especially Deep in the Heart of Texas. A couple years ago I had somebody follow me down our residential streets. He had pulled into a driveway, I passed him, and he started following. Probably wasn't smart, but I put the .45 in my lap, pulled over, rolled down the window and said "what's up". Guy accused me of flipping him off- I never flip someone off, unless it is a friend/relative and done in jest. This dude started saying things like "It's things like that (flipping people off) that get people shot". He finally left, and I went home and changed my underwear :) Of course, he was sporting a McCain/Palin sign in his yard last year.

If I wanted to live a life in fear of every fucking thing to the point where I am no longer logical I'd be a Republican.

Edited on Sun Apr-04-10 11:18 AM by demodonkey

... My little Subie has three (3) election integrity stickers on the back! And it's been driven most of the miles I've put on it fighting for better elections. So screw you Sarah, I'm out there doing my best to protect EVERYONE's vote, even yours.

Anyway, I really need a "new" (i.e. safe, running, but used) car. And as a poor election activist I have no idea how I am going to afford one.

All of the above has nothing to do with Obama. It started w/ GWB.

BTW, a Subaru is a great car and very helpful where I live because of the 4-wheel drive.

last week. All three reported being able to cheerfully answer "great!" but sooner or later, something crazy will happen.

It's like when the RWers went to Africa and condemned gays, then they were surprised that one country tried to make

homosexuality a capital offense punishable by death. OOps.

We're Gay Loving, Baby Killing, Commie, Pinko, Muslim Loving, Appeasing Apologists, Palling Around With Terrorists, Socialist Robbing from the Rich to Coddle the Lazy Do Nothing Welfare Queens, Big Government Loving, Baby Killers. Baby Killers is always important to repeat again and again in elections years.

When I am driving and see a car with a Bush/Cheney bumper sticker (yes, there are still a lot of them where I am) I just have to look at the driver to see what kind of person could actually be duped into voting for those thugs. My perceptions of what I am about to see are never disappointing to me. All the drivers have that 'look' on their faces, almost like a throwback to a primitive species. Ok, maybe not that extreme, but it's easy to see they are right wingers. Admit it, most of them don't look normal.
