This is currently a top headline on CNN.com.

Anyone else have a problem with this headline?

EDIT: Now that I think more about there, I notice another big problem with this headline.

1. The corporate media use harsher language than 'lashes out'

when Barack Obama denounces the party of NO's latest obstructionist tactics. 'Lashes out' doesn't begin to cover the hatred & violence committed by this convicted murderer, who is now virtually assured of spending the rest of his miserable existence behind bars.

2. I have a problem with it.

"Convicted murderer lashes our, gets 50 to life." would be more apt.

would be more accurate.

7. In that context, "lashes out" refers to his courtroom outburst

and not to his sick, premeditated murder of a physician.


However, you're correct--the headline is problematic.

13. Not just that.

I didn't like the ordering of the words.

It should at least be "Abortion foe gets 50 to life, lashes out"

And to be more accurate, it should point out that he is a MURDERER, not just a simple "foe."

It's funny how simple rhetoric can completely change the impact of a story.

The way the headline was currently worded, it made it sound as if an anti-abortion advocate protested and got jail time for it.

In reality, he is a killer that murdered a doctor who did abortions, he got jail time for it, and then he showed his ass as they were carrying him off to jail.

8. Rachel Maddow used her show last night to show all his ties

with these terrorist organizations. Until the Feds take on these groups, there really is no justice. They get a free pass because of the feds fear of polarizing some elements of the population. It was pointed out on her show last night how few doctors practice abortion because of the reign of terror from these groups. And they are upfront about it. Stop or you die is their motto.
