and you have several people on Facebook trying to convince people "Hey, it's obvious he was being sarcastic!" and every one of the people who enthusiastically applauded the favorable comparison KNEW HE WAS BEING SARCASTIC ... of course, these same people were trying to convince me that police took no action in the spitting incident, despite the video showing exactly the opposite ... and a Faux report which said the police cuffed and detained the guy, but didn't arrest (I guess that wouldn't count as any action by the police ...)

Let's be CLEAR about a couple of things:

1) I myself listened to the whole link, and I could detect NO TRACE of irony, satire, or sarcasm. That said, I have never listened to HANNITY extensively (the way I have monitored LIMBO and Tweety), so if HANNITY has explained away the "MacVEIGH wannabes" reference before as being a take-off on Tweety, I don't know. The delivery is totally DRY.

2) My use of "erstwhile" DOES refer to this wingnut's PREVIOUSLY performing a local radio talkshow, which he doesn't do anymore. A few days ago somebody questioned whether I know the meaning of "erstwhile."
