As a parent of two teenagers, this is weighing on me heavier the longer Shrub's delusional war mongering goes unchecked. My almost 18 year old daughter is off the hook - yet I fear for the Government getting their hands on my son - who is in high school next year.

2. Glad I don't have sons
Fearful that they will make the young women start signing up. I have two girls.
I remember when we were expecting the first one, I was hoping for a boy, Sure glad we don't have that situation.

3. I am completely opposed to it.
BUt there is little I can do. In order to receive student loans, they have to be registered. If however, there is a draft and he is called up, I'll cut off his foot.......well maybe not.

5. Resources for you and your sons to look at. Help from the afsc.

It should go without saying that these are choices your sons will have to make.
They have to evaluate what their values are, and what to do from there.

For fun, have your kids (and their homies) check out this flash movie. Keep them all laughing derisively at the recruiters.

7. Thanks Tom - I wish this info was NOT so relevant.
Some idiot from Texas has something to do with that!

6. 15 year old son
It is my hope that in 3 years we will be out of there and saner people will be in charge. If not, then I will probably register him but then send him to live with friends in europe for a while. My brother is being forced to fight for this maniac, my son will not be.

8. Why is your daughter off the hook?
If they reinstate the draft, won't women be included?
