HEADLINE: Seven arrested in FBI raids linked to Christian militia group

Responses:

I really don't know much about this group, but what concerns me is that it's a Muslim Militia group that is helping the FBI to arrest them.
====

What I think is extraordinary is that this militia was training to battle the antichrist when they are arrested by the F.B.I., or the current administration.
====

This really irritates me. Islamberg in New York state appears to operate with virtual impunity, but God forbid a Christian militia group mention muslims!!! At least at this point, it seems the mere mention brought down the hammer. As a side note to this morass, it is reported that since around December 2009, the men from Islamberg have disappeared. Do you think they might have gone oversees to train so they could come back and terrorize Americans???? I'm beginning to wonder if this administration gives a dang about this nation and its patriots. I'm getting the picture that we are becoming like the Jews under the Nazis. Am I being to melodramatic? :eyes: Muslims frequently threaten Americans - even openly in our streets and it is called "freedom of speech." Patriots, however, are mentioned n DHS reports, roundly denounced and demonized as violent by this administration....now this. Are they hoping to provoke violence so that they can declare martial law, get rid of all their opposition, and follow through on their threats to "change" America?
====

I would like to know what the FBI protocols are for following up on accusations. Do they have anything to do with ethnicity or beliefs of the accused? Or with whom is in a protected class?

The FBI used to be a bulwark of honest law enforcement. Now they seem to be a political tool.
====

I was just reading about this on Drudge.
====

Homeland Security and Napolitano have their fingerprints all over this one. Obama and Nepaolitano would do well to investigate the islamic terrorist militia's scattered all over the country linked to alQaeda, and leave these harmless, tho maybe flaky Christian groups alone.

11. RR-types have been claiming that the anti-christ is pretty much any
democratic president which has ever been elected. I remember it as a child in my parent's pentacostal church, they claimed Jimmy Carter was the anti-christ. Then Bill Clinton, etc.

12. now that makes no sense at all
If they were true believers in fundie Rapture theology, they wouldn't be concerned with fighting the Antichrist, because they would be beamed up to Heaven before the rule of the AC begins.

As far as them believing Obama is the AC, then again, they would be in conflict with there own doctrine, because the Antichrist isn't supposed to take power until after the Rapture. In fact, the "Left Behind" book/movie series (and other common interpretations of fundie doctrine) portrays the Rapture itself, and resulting panic from the disappearance of millions of people as the international emergency which allows the Antichrist to rise in the first place.

So what exactly would a "Christian" militia be training for? :shrug:

battling all those demons and evil people all by himself.

44. I think even on the Rapture-Ready board they have stopped believing in the Rapture,
but can't admit it even to themselves. It's been replaced by a kind of closet Dominionism. That's the reason for all the inconsistencies you noted, and it's also why they support these "Christian warriors."

48. Don't point out the holes in their stories!
These folks depend on people not really reading the entire book of revelation! If you start to point out that their idea of the scripture is probably wrong (and then back it up with the real deal) they tend to freak out. A Christian fundie in full on freak out mode is something nobody should have to see.

49. Can't help it. I know the doctrine too well
I never bought the right wing political side of fundaMentalist "Christianity" but I was into the religious side of it back in high school. Back then I took the term "millennial reign" literally, and thought that the Rapture would have to take place in 1993, in order for Jesus to return and establish His earthly kingdom in the year 2000.

Of course, I was over all that by the time 1993 rolled around, so it's not like I was actually disappointed when the Rapture didn't happen. I probably would have been drunk and missed it, if it had anyway.

Thanks for the laughs, I'll feel guilty tomorrow or the next day, right now this is just hilarious.

Then we were talking about some of the other threads you'd posted and we were both laughing. No guilt yet today, and I live amongst the loons - people who won't read the newspaper 'cause the preacher tells them it's an instrument of the devil. When I engage them in person, I try really hard to not laugh in their faces and biting the inside of the mouth helps along with sucking one's lips into the mouth, but sometimes I fail and snicker at them in person.:evilgrin:

Apparently, nobody has ever posted anything about it on DU either. A Google search reveals that the woo is strong, with freepville & FAUX attempting to create a tempest in a teapot. There was no mention of the place that I could find on any of the so-called 'liberal media.'

15. The Violence that these groups promote doesn't strike them as anti- Christ?
Is the world not under the total dominion of Violence? - just as they say the anti-Christ will bring everyone under its dominion?

Who amongst these folks has been saying, in effect, "Crucify him/them, crucify him/them!!" in the debate over Universal Health Care? Who said "Crucify him/them, crucify him/them!!!" in the build up to the Invasion and Occupation of Iraq?

21. That's a very interesting refinement of the thought: the anti-Christ would have to be "Christian".
If it were not Christian, then it wouldn't be the anti-Christ, it would be the non-Christ.

To be the opposite of something, you have to be that thing to begin with, thus the negation.

It surprises me how true The Bible actually is, just not necessarily in the ways that are conventionally assumed.

30. What are they worried about? They'll get their Miranda rights, attorneys if they can't afford 'em
and a trial by judge and jury where the prosecution has to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt. It's that old Constitutional rights thing.

Or would they prefer them to be shipped off to Gitmo or another foreign country without charges and subject to "enhanced interrogation" based on suspicion alone like the Bush Administration did with those suspected of terrorist inclinations or actions?

They just love throwing away the Constitution and the Bill of Rights for everyone else except themselves.
