Stupak says pro-life groups are hypocritical and lost their mission
"Maybe these so-called groups for life are not really standing up for the sanctity of life," Stupak said. "Maybe they're there for political purposes. Maybe they've lost their mission."

""Yes," he admitted. "I find it amazing that when President Bush issued the executive order on embryonic stem cell research -- which I agreed with -- all these pro-life groups such as National Right to Life applauded it. And now President Obama issues one and suddenly it's not worth the paper it's written on."

"What does that teach us?" I asked.

"It's hypocrisy," he said."

4. Wind pipe transplant
I link to Fox so you can't object to that librul media. Embryonic stem cell research was necessary to determine how stem cells worked to begin with.

6. Has President Obama revoked any of his EOs?
I'm not aware of that.

7. Is he just noticing this now?
maybe next week he will have an epiphany that these same politically motivated "pro-lifers" just used him to try to kill Health Care Reform and, when he failed them, that they will drop him like a hot potato.

Not like people from his own district haven't been pointing this out for months.

Sheesh.

9. He's clueless
He actually thought that photo-op with the President signing the EO would give him political cover.

He might survive a primary challenge, but he won't survive the general election this fall. He's managed to piss off both right and left.

10. I disagree
In this district described as "pro-gun, pro-life and pro-working class", Stupak still has the full support of the NRA and the unions. I've seen many articles posts written by partisan pundents saying Stupak is in trouble but none from non-partisan sources saying that.

State Senator Prusi from Upper Michigan is pro-choice and gets high ratings from organizations such as Planned Parenthood but he smokes Republican opposition because he is also highly rated by the AFL-CIO and gets an "A" rating from the NRA. This shows it's possible a pro-choice candidate can win in this area if they have support from the other big two. I haven't seen anything in Connie Saltonstall's history which would show she could wrest union support from Stupak or get an endorsement from the NRA.

12. I can't imagine any Repuke who would run from this district
not being supported by the NRA, as well. And while the union leadership is solidly on the Democratic side, no matter what, the rank and file do what their gut tells them to when they're in the voting booth. I have to imagine that the Cadillac tax has them concerned for their futures.

If Saltonstall can beat Stupak in the primary, she might be able to win, but if Stupak comes out on top, I cannot imagine many progressives holding their nose and voting for him, there will either be an undervote on that race, or some third-party candidate is going to find they had more support than they thought they had.

11. Pro-life has been co-opted by Republicans for decades.
It's a mess by design in order to keep it a cash cow issue for Republicans and is only followed by stupid people.
