Finally... I got a job

I took the test for the census a few weeks ago and aced it. Just a few minutes ago they called and offered me a supervisor position starting 4/6. It is not in my chosen field and it is only temporary but... fuckin-a, after almost two years out of work, it comes just in time. In addition, I'll be helping collect information to be used to send the freepers/teabaggers off to the FEMA death camps, always a bonus :D

Who knows? Maybe your talent will be recognized and you'll get a civil service job out of it. There are enough Boomers starting to retire out of those jobs that a lot of them will be available over the next five years.

My training is from 4/6 through 4/9 and they said the enumerators (sp?) start training right after that, so those calls should go out later this week, early next.

:toast: The best people I ever worked with was during Census 2000 :-).

Word of advice: As with any job, be on time, don't miss work and if you don't understand how to do something ask. Things move along really quickly and you'll find that as a Supervisor, those that don't perform will have to be let go asap so you can hire someone else right away.

The guy that gave us the test told us it could be till the end of the year. The woman that called today said it depended entirely on the level of compliance and that I would be given work in 8 week blocks.
