People equating health insurance to car insurance are hedging dangerously close
...to that old Rushism, "Health insurance is a privilege, and not a right."

My own issues with the vote aside:

My husband and I told our daughter, when she took her driver's training, that it was a privilege to be able to drive. We told her we would insure her for that privilege and cover the cost.

While I understand that some are really happy, and some are not, this is an apples and oranges statement and a dangerous analogy.

1. Not to mention it falls apart further when you use it claiming its an example...
of cost stabilization and other factors.

I demolish such an argument here:

And I even failed to mention "no fault" claims, you know, when the car insurance company refuses to pay a claim because, well hell, accidents happen.
