52. I will respond to you, because you wrote more than a one-liner

But the reply goes for all of you others who predictably chimed in with one-liners and "freeper troll" insinuations, too. Unfortunately for you, I am not backing down from my opinion that she is very pretty, especially in the video linked in the OP. Is that an opinion I feel a pressing need to reiterate at every turn? No, but it is the subject of this thread.

Equating her objective physical appearance with her IQ or her political views is pure fallacy. That is of course something 99% of everyone here understands; and yet they have no qualms about disparaging her looks in sometimes very vile ways, or being silent when others do. I saw similar stuff when Hillary was running for president, though not to the same extent. There is a contingent of people who may act like they respect and appreciate women in public life and in roles of power, but who when push comes to shove will turn right around and attack them in the most superficial, sexist ways. And I am hereby calling you out, one-liners! Regardless of what anyone else thinks, I will not let it stand.

It is indeed true that real beauty comes from within, but someone's inner qualities are to a large extent subjective. Is she very smart? No, I wouldn't say so. Do I agree with her political views? No, in most cases we are far removed (though I will make a point of saying that I sincerely appreciate her commitment to children with special needs). But there is no denying that judging by her exterior alone - something I'm not usually in the habit of doing, but it wasn't me who started this thread - she is one very good looking woman.

I hope this post didn't come off as too 'progressiver-than-thou', but whatever visceral reactions you may have against this particular woman, you know (yes, you really do) that it is not right to attack any woman this way. Own up to it.

There, I now yield the floor to any other presumptive one-line writing, freeper-troll accusing fools. You might at least be good for a laugh.

53. A female politician who uses her sexuality the way Sarah Palin does is far from attractive..

This is particularly true in the case of someone who is advancing a sexually repressive agenda that is basically hostile to women because of their sex and sexuality.

The tight and short skirts, the high heels, the winking and the vamping poses are a major turnoff for me, I don't find her attractive at all. If she were not a politician and did not champion the repressive agenda that she does she would be moderately attractive to me, as it is her utter and complete hypocrisy in oozing sexuality while pushing an agenda that is anything but respectful of other women and their sexuality comes across as the physically pretty but mean and teasing girls who seem to dominate the social scene at many high schools.

While I think she is a terrible human being it is not very progressive to attack her for her looks.

It's really too bad our society often gives a lot of passes to those they feel are attractive. Her fame is evidence of this.

Lastly, I have to say that, from a voter's perspective, I would have to question the judgement of a woman wearing an Ellie May Klampett hairstyle (just as I would a male politician sporting a mullet or some other such hairstyle). I get a sense she's shooting for a school-girl-ish look to further her appeal to those who support her because they are attracted to her. Says a lot about the level she's coming from.

Personally I am not attracted to women who paint themselves, go for their inner-barbie, or otherwise mistake pushup bra artifice for beauty. I guess it is a generational thing, but as a child of the 60's the big hair and piled on make up look makes me cringe.
