The only representation you have in Congress is through a Corporation....
Basically, health insurance costs skyrocketed to the point where employers were dropping coverage and health insurance plans were denying coverage AFTER hospitals had rendered services. The later not only hurts patients (which could have been tolerated) but it also hurts hospitals (which, of course, can NOT be tolerated.) What little benefit to patients this bill provides is there because the patient’s interest happens to coincide with a corporate interest - in this case the hospital lobby. Everything in the bill that benefits patients over all corporate interests has been stripped out.

So, if I want effective representation, I guess I should figure out which corporate interest best represents me and contribute to their lobby effort?

1. no. I'm not represented by corporations and healthcare isn't the only issue
that Congress deals with. And I don't imagine anything will change for me or the thousands of people like me who have subsidized health care through the state of Vermont.
