1. Sadly, it's not available in their apps for portable devices.

Until then, it won't be terribly useful. I don't bike in my home office.

2. Here in Eugene, bikes are big time transportation

and we have many trails and paths for bikes. The route from here to there can be looked up prior to leaving. Everyone I know here is stoked about it. I can not ride a bike, due to injuries of yore, but my partner learned several new routes to places he usually goes.

3. Worst map ever.

I just googled my route that I take in Austin; my home to my job.

It maps out a route that is so freaking dangerous and mostly NOT on safe bike routes, that I would be taking my life in my own hands.

Austin puts out a map yearly showing the best roads (low traffic) to the most dangerous roads (high traffic). Google is just using what ever roads that are labeled as a "bike route".

I'm not impressed with this at all.

It's pretty pathetic.
