Meg Whitman Campaign Ejects Reporters For Asking Questions (VIDEO)

Former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, a candidate for the Republican nomination for governor of California, had an awkward encounter with the press Tuesday: Inviting reporters to an appearance she was making at a railroad facility, then not letting them ask any questions, and finally having security escort the media out after they persisted.

After the press were sent out, Whitman's security then put up shades to block the view of the room, so that pictures could not be taken.

1. Typical Republican. She expected them to be stenographers instead of reporters...
I'm glad the Press acted like the Press in this case. They rarely do any more.

4. That stupid look on Whitman's face when the first reporter asked her a question was so strange.
Even the teevee comentator called it bizarre.

2. Meg wants to buy
the governorship, no questions asked. She's just another billionaire Repub who thinks the solution to all our problems in CA is just more tax cuts for businesses and cuts in services. Give me a break.

I can't stand this woman. Her ads run 24/7. Fortunately, I can TIVO most programs and just zip through them. I almost feel sorry for Steve Poizner. Not enough to vote for him, though.

5. IDK Steve Poizner ads are getting funny too
He's going to protect us from the run away liberalism destroying the state. I'm just sorry one of these people is going to win and get a chance to be my governor. Their ads make them out to be so out of touch and insane. It's scary and yet those ads are such comic relief.

7. Whitman has plenty of q's to answer about why eBay makes tons more money for itself...
Than it ever will for California. I'm interested to see if she produces a chart able to correlate this:

• To discuss how Meg Whitman, in just five years, transformed eBay from an ordinary auction site to an e-commerce powerhouse

With the rise of people through that very time-line; seeking easy, point & click profits made off selling art, sculpture and Jesus in The Toast toast *no one* would buy in the real world without mentioning the stupidity of trading a paper-clip all the way up to a McMansion that looks like a stack of shoe boxes. At the link they mention, '5,000 employees serving 62 million registered users globally'. With a global population of 6,692,030,277 - 5,000 jobs ain't squat for her or her team to be crowing about. Mattel likely hires more Chinese than that just to put Barbie's into boxes

Meg Whitman is a purveyor of paper wealth with little regard for the physical efforts others are required to go through just to be food on the kitchen table

10. eBay sucks shit through a straw.
Edited on Thu Mar-11-10 11:35 AM by arcadian
You used to be able to get on there and find really, really obscure antiques and things you couldn't find through normal channels, really eclectic items. Now it's nothing but people selling T-shirts and knick-knacks made in China. It sucks.

11. If I recall correctly, Schwarzenegger had to have the questions in advance of debates and Elizabeth
Dole would only answer questions that were past out by her
staff when she was running for office.
Wow, are they well qualified!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
