Poll question: Have you ever paid someone for information?
Have you ever seen in the movies where someone pays a bartender, a criminal, a hotel worker, etc. for information about another person or event? Have you ever done that? I'm making this a poll just in case people really don't want to talk about it.

If you did, why and how much?

8. I did indeed acquire a substantial amount of information.
Some of which I still remember these 40-some years later. :)

11. Not personally.
A company I worked for paid credit companies (TransUnion, etc.) for information about people they were tracking. And I've worked at companies that paid for background checks.

I wish I'd paid for a background check on my daughter's now-ex. Would have saved her some grief.

22. No
I'm looking for more nefarious behavior. Like you paid a bartender $20 to find a hooker who you know from HS that you are trying to save from a life in the sex trade. :)

21. I have on several occasions paid $50 or a $100 to an attorney to answer some legal questions
Best money I ever spent too. Saved me a lot of headaches.

Not sure if that is the kind of information you are talking about paying for though?

Don
