Teabagger, no Tea Partier -- Is this term much better?
In the gay community, Crystal Methamphetimine is called "Tina" or "T" for short.

Party is slang for doing drugs while you have sex, i.e. "Party and Play"

So a Tea Partier is slang in the gay community for people who have sex while high on Crystal Methemphetamine.

And this is what the Teabaggers are demanding that they be called, again ignorant of the double meaning.

It just cracks me up!

2. Teabagger is good enough for me!
Whatever strikes most people as the most pejorative. Or - whatever pisses off the teabaggers/tea "party" people most. Whatever boils their oil is what I'm gonna use.

3. Besides, they started it when they glued and stapled all those tea bags
all over their hats. They named themselves.

4. I got yelled at at a public forum for usign the term
Edited on Fri Mar-05-10 03:06 PM by PHIMG
It was a very left group. I was making the case that some teabagg- neh teapartiers were reachable with an anti-corporate message and she yelled at me for using the teabagger term because if you want to reach them you shouldn't use the term they find offensive, so now in dealings with this group of people i'm having to get out of the habit of using the word teabagger but i just kinda had the lightbulb go off that the term t-partier is slang in the gay community but its not as widely known as teabagging so the teabaggers dont even know about it. its really funny.

8. The heck with that! As long as their side continues deliberately to call us the "Democrat Party,"
I feel at total liberty to call them whatever I damn well feel like calling them. This is NOT a one-way street, and NO ONE gave their side exclusive rights to put us down constantly like that - OR to do so with no consequences to face for doing so! And yeah, they can stop taping tea bags to their hats and posters and clothing and noses and stuff if they don't want to be associated with it.

10. It's a deliberate slight.
If I'm not mistaken it started back in the Joe McCarthy days. They call us the "Democrat Party" or "Democrat Congress" or "Democrat Majority" or it's a "Democrat bill" or a "Democrat candidate" or some such crap. They know full well what the name of our party is. It's nothing more than a childish, snarky, in-yer-face "gesture."

I prefer to think of it as a reason to pity these stupid, vindictive, piss-ants because OBVIOUSLY nobody thought enough of them as kids to send them to even marginal schools where they could learn the difference between a simple noun and a simple adjective. Arrested development at the third grade grammar level. Let's just proclaim how it shows their ignorance. Furthermore - I will decide what MY party is called. That's up to US DEMS, and NOT them. And since they want to keep fucking with us, and it does no good and makes no difference in behavior or the adjustment or correction thereof to ignore it or shrug it off, I say we hit 'em back in the face with it. Do it to them a whole bunch. See how they like it. I'm sure john BONER will start complaining after awhile. And if the cheneys have insisted to Chris Matthews that it's CHEEE-neee, I will continue to call them CHAY-nee.

When they start getting the name of my party straight, I will return the favor and the courtesy. Until then, no dice. No being nice. At least not from me. Happy to discover that Thom Hartmann feels the same way and practices that on the air now. I think we should ALL do it until it gets under their skin.
