If you know someone who wants to teach in Florida give them some advice: RUN AWAY!
A Republican ideologue, John Thrasher, has filed a bill to require districts to base 50% of a teachers' pay on student test scores. HALF!!!! This is outrageous.

If you know a college student majoring in education or who wants to teach, send this article to them.

If you are moving to Florida, don't plan on going into teaching.

My goal is to expose the awful teaching conditions in this state. The state legislature absolutely HATES public schools and public school teachers.

If you are a teacher in Florida, copy this article and send it to 10 teachers. Tell them to send it to 10 teachers, and so on. Everyone in Florida MUST contact their legislators about this.

2. This is just more of the corporate approach to education
that is all the rage right now all over America--including in the Oval Office.

The difference between Thrasher and Duncan is more a matter of degree than anything else.
