Blackwater Bald Eagles have two little ones!
The Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge in Maryland has a very popular live eaglecam (photos updated every 30 seconds) set up over a nest, giving us an amazing view of a pair of of Bald Eagles raising their young.

Mom and Dad are now proud parents to two little grey fluffy chicks. Chick1 was born on Feb. 26, and Chick2 on Feb28 (today!). I just saw one of the parents feeding them. One chick seems to be more dominant than the other, probably the eldest kid. Yesterday, i saw a parent feed the one chick directly from a partially eaten fish in the net.

One of the parents just dropped off dinner ... a nice big fish!

Be sure to check out the image gallery. There are some nice photos taken over the past month, including photos of the parents incubating during the two blizzards we recently had earlier in the month. They did a great job, both chicks survived!

Some recent photos from the gallery:

1. i forgot to add ... if you view the camera at night,
you're seeing the nest through a night vision camera. So don't worry ... there's no light shining on the nest at night!

3. very cool! We were biking there about 5 years ago, came upon a pair of eagles in the meadow
They were about 20 feet away from us when they took flight. The SOUND of their wings pounding through the air left me in awe!
