Rep. Charles Rangel, the normally courtly House Ways and Means Committee chairman, in an interview in the current edition of Vibe magazine said, "I think" that Vice President Dick Cheney "has a personality disorder."

As quoted by the black entertainment magazine, Rangel continued: "There's no question about it. There are some people that have an unpleasant demeanor, and they always have a scowl. I don't know this guy that well. But I can't see him telling a joke unless it's a dirty joke."

In the same interview, Rangel said of George W. Bush: "The president is one of the most pleasant slap-on-the-back, fun people you want to talk with . . . but you always leave not knowing whether he knows what's going on."

gee, I don't think they let you be VP if you have a personality disorder.

edited to add;

isn't chuck a relatively moderate sort of republican?

hmmmm makes one wonder why it's called a "rant" by human events.

5. Rangel's one of ours.
He's a Democrat, and a fairly progressive one at that.

9. Are you thinking of Chuck Hagel?
Charley Rangel is a Progressive Democrat who has been representing a district in Harlem for a very long time.

3. Fun, yup.
Like a used car salesman. Many psychopaths are really good at making people like them, making a good first impression. It isn't 'til you get the car off the lot and it starts smoking that you you get this sudden realization that you been had.

Mutually co-enabling; destructive to all those around them. Not a good relationship when you're the couple running the country.

expense of an innocent bystander. Or maybe at the expense of someone he considers a friend, but it is someone who works for him, and since he has power over them, they are truly victimized since they cannot rebuke him except at a high price to themselves.

IOW, he is a load of fun but only by being an asshole. (who-da-thunk-it?)

10. Difference between Used Car Salesman and Computer Salesman
There's an old joke we used to tell in a computer store where I worked:

Q: "What's the difference between a computer salesman and a used car salesman?"

A: "The used car salesman KNOWS when he's lying to you."

The point: there are many salesmen in the world (and Georgie is nothing if not a salesman) who can look the customer in the eye, say "Yes, this IBM computer can run Apple software. It's a slam dunk." And they really believe it.

Bush is like most of those sales guys I knew: He has lied to himself for so long about who he is, he can no longer tell the difference between the lies and the truth.

This is the definition of a pathological liar, isn't it? He lies so well because he no longer realizes he is lying.

who were just like him, and well-liked by some.

Those types were never my cuppa, though.

11. Mayor Cheney gave Barney some bullets, and then Barney invaded Mt Pilot
Andy will come back from vacation in 2008, take Barney's gun and bullets away, and maybe things will get back to normal.
