Of course, this is just thinking out loud --

If things are doing so well in Kentucky that Senator Bunning can stop the extension of unemployment benefits to over a million people - then perhaps the folks who no longer have unemployment should just go to his area and request housing and assistance, along with jobs?

I know this won't happen - but can you imagine the STINK it would cause for Mr. Tough Shit? Two, three or four busloads of unemployed folks - long term unemployed folks. And when asked WHY they came to this area, to have them say - Well Senator Bunning doesn't think unemployment is needed - so he must HAVE jobs for his area. And we'd like some please.

1. It is Jim Bunning (not Bunnington) doing the filibuster
Edited on Fri Feb-26-10 02:20 PM by hlthe2b
but the villain behind him is Kyle (Rethug of AZ) who is trying to leverage this to end the estate tax.

BTW, Bunning has long been rumoured to be severely empacted by Alzheimers or other form of pre-senile dementia, which they have tried hard to cover up... It may just have turned him into an even meaner old bastard who could care less about anyone or anything.

2. name corrected -- and I still think it's a good idea
The point being -- these communities need to feel the heat when their reps act like schoolyard bullies and stop vital legislation that effects so many people. Right now they can sit back and say *way to go* to this old fart, and not feel the very real pain his tantrum is causing.

And yes, if my reps were doing stupid shit like this - I'd advocate the same thing here.

3. Oh, I agree.... But, given this guy is probably wreaking revenge
on everyone, (including the RNC, given they pushed him out of his reelection race), it might be more effective to go after national RETHUG leadership and the press (demanding they report widely on this and get answers as to why).... But, it seems that Kyl is getting a pass on his role. He, too should get the attention.

4. they ALL should!
Tom Price, one of the Congresscritters from my area, supposedly wrote whatever that mess is the pukes are touting as healthcare reform. I'd like to see people who have lost their health insurance go into his office, and ask for help -- do it in a BIG group, and make sure the local media is along for the ride.

These reps really need to be pushed into an uncomfortable spotlight. Over and over and over again.

5. The first riot was at Berkeley so now the next one needs to be at
this old man's house. Take the country back now. One asshole senator cannot be allowed to do this. As Bill Mahaer says, "New rule."

6. no riots -- just land on his lawn and set up tents till HE has to find help for those people
Riots will not do it.

Just go , sit down, and ask for help. period.
