RW Upset that Missile Defense logo looks Muslim and Obama logo

Conservatives are complaining that a new Missile Defense Agency Logo (far right) looks too much like the Star and Crescent, like the Obama campaign logo, and like the logo for the Iranian space agency. One commenter at the Washington Times says:

I’m having trouble seeing past the crescent and star in the new logo. Is this our signal to the muslim world that we’re not going to shoot down their missiles?

Former Reagan staffer Frank Gaffney sees it as a purposeful signal:

“The new MDA shield appears ominously to reflect a morphing of the Islamic crescent and star with the Obama campaign logo…Team Obama is behaving in a way that — as the new MDA logo suggests — is all about accommodating that ‘Islamic Republic’ and its ever-more aggressive stance.”

The MDA tests our missile defense system and is integral to our national security. But if you believe the paranoids, they’re in collusion with evil forces that are secretly seeking to end our way of life.

The outer circle represents an elliptical orbit. The red stuff represents the possible paths of a missile designed to kill a ICBM. The starburst represents the destruction of said ICBM. There is no crescent.
