1. You're a hater! You want a pony?? Get the fuck over yourself!
He didn't personally call you a retard.

Obama picked Rahm, therefore he can say whatever the fuck he wants!

If you are going to diss Rahm, you are hoping for the president of the united states to fail!

Can't you just keep your fucking mouth shut?!

(i'm being sarcastic, btw)

30. It's better to simply insult them to their faces? What kind of modeling is that?!
I can see how Rahm would absolutely hate Democrats actually interfering with his agenda by lobbying for what they want. But, that's what political parties do and should do. If Rahm got to set all our goals without a challenge, then what on Earth does the party need the rest of us for?

41. The question is, do we want to destroy the only Democrats
who are viable in certain areas. The answer is no.

I think it's fine to run progressive Dems against people like Lieberman, like we did in 04. But we have to think about the logic of helping to defeat Democrats, period.

50. If Democrats aren't actually behaving as Democrats, who are they "viable" for?
I have no problem defending Democrats that I only agree with a small percentage of the time for practical reasons. I sent money to HAROLD FORD, LOL.

But, I also have no problem challenging Democrats in public when they not only refuse to serve their constituency but make that constituency an object of public ridicule, something that happens too often and that is corrosive as hell.

The answer to the ads in question is never to insult the people running them but to invite them to the table, where they belong in the first place, so they won't have to resort to public disagreement for lack of a more appropriate venue. Period.

52. Behaving as Democrats according to
whom? I agree that progressives should challenge Democrats who don't act like Democrats. I just think the way to do that is to support progressives in local primaries vs. try to take them out and leave an R in better shape to win.

54. Depends on what you mean by "viable".
Do you think that Republican Arlen Specter is the only "viable" candidate for the Democratic Senate seat in Pennsylvania?

He already has the pledged FULL support of the Obama Administration, the DNC, and the DSCC to steam roll ANY and ALL REAL Democratic challengers in the Primary.
Is THAT what makes Republican Arlen Specter "viable"?

You do see the problem when Republican friendly Corporate"Centrists" get to pre-determine who is "viable", and then direct the financial support of the entire Democratic Party AND the president's Bully Pulpit to their chosen candidate.
The results is too many Republicans INSIDE the Democratic Party.

I don't buy the smug premise that we have to run a Republican to get elected in some areas.
A Fire Breathing Populist (like Huey Long) who avoids the Wedge Issues, and runs on a platform of Economic Justice for Working Americans CAN get elected anywhere, especially in today's economic climate.

THAT really scares the "Centrists" who will direct the full might of the "Democratic Party" financial resources to crush any REAL Democrats early in the local Primaries.
(I've SEEN it.)

Thus, we have the self-fulfilling and self-serving myth perpetuated by the "Centrist"/Big Business Democrats that you MUST run a Republican and move to the right to get elected.

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans. I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone

40. No, but a political puke named Marshall in VA said "retarded kids are god's revenge for abortion"
So that then explains Rammituphisass's comment that "progressives are fucking retarded". Progressives are the result of abortions according to today's current political consensus in the wonderfully corrupt and failed disaster capitalist states of Amurika.
