Megamouth Stapleton has had enough, quits as Palin spokesperson
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0210/33429.html

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palins senior adviser and spokeswoman, Meghan Stapleton, has resigned, POLITICO has learned.

Stapleton has been a Palin confidante since December 2006 and one of the governors most trusted aides since she was vaulted onto the national political scene by being picked as GOP presidential nominee John McCains running mate.

Stapleton said she resigned to spend more time with her husband and 2-year-old daughter, Isabella.

While it has been an honor to help Gov. Palin and her family over the last few years, I am also honored to have this incredible opportunity to stay home with my precious miracle, Isabella, Stapleton told POLITICO. " 2 years old, I have missed significant moments in her life, but I look forward with great happiness to celebrating milestones as well as mundane moments with her as I refocus my priorities. I also look forward to seeing my saint of a husband again, too!

<snip>

Meg has been deeply involved in all things Palin and instrumental in Sarah's many successes, Fred Malek, a prominent Republican fundraiser and Palin friend, told POLITICO. Its hard to replace anyone so loyal, tireless and effective, but the Palin phenomenon will continue. Meg has surely earned the privilege to devote more time to her 2-year-old daughter, but I expect she will continue to render advice to her good friend on key issues.

<snip>

While I had hoped to work together on so many more projects, time with my precious 2-year-old has been further minimized with the whirlwind commitments of all things Palin, she told the SarahPAC staff. I have done my best to scale back, but Isabella is now resorting to hiding my BlackBerry, and she shouldn't grow up begging for a mother to start acting like a mother.

Now, THERE'S a tell-all book waiting to happen. Interesting that Fred Malek made the announcement instead of Sarah. Trouble in Saradise?

22. Megan Staplegun is a total and complete swine. Good luck living
happily in alaska, swine bag, after attacking everyone who lives here. I loathe her.

2. And that's a book about Palin I'd read a Stapleton tell all.
She must have gotten tired of typing out facebook and twitter messages.

in fact she joined the Palin team shortly after Sarah became governor. This one's a biggie.

We here in Alaska remember her most UNfondly as part of the Palin Truth Squad activated during the Troopergate scandal. She owes Walt Monegan a huge apology for her attacks during the summer of 2008.

ed. Shannyn Moore has reposted videos of Meg from the Troopergate time period here http://shannynmoore.wordpress.com/2010/02/24/breaking-n... /

26. Rumor has it that they've not been getting along so well
of late, and the kind of snarky (typical Meg) remarks about being a "real mother" or whatever it was she said seems like a direct hit on Her Highness.

Ah, here's the money quote:

I have done my best to scale back but Isabella is now resorting to hiding my BlackBerry and she shouldnt grow up begging for a mother to start acting like a mother. Significant since we seldom see Sarah without her Blackberry(s) in hand.

12. I wonder if her poor reception at CPAC
had something to do with it. Ron Paul won the straw poll with something like 37% while Palin got around 7%.

Not very encouraging for her future career in politic$, if you know what I mean.

I'm not sure anybody pays too much attention to that. I hope not. I want Palin to run.

15. "Instrumental in Sarah's many successes"
I like how Fred "Freddy" Malek doesn't bother to stop and enumerate any of those alleged "successes." Prolly wanted to keep the statement brief, although it's difficult to imagine how an exhaustive list of Sarah Palin's successes would add more than a word or two to the press release.

WTF is that supposed to mean??? My mother multi-tasked and raised her children.
Not even a thank you from the Grifter in chief. Maybe Meghan told her to 'Staple(ton)' the notes next time - Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! :rofl: :popcorn:

Okay, that's nice. Shouldn't Palin be staying home too, with all her children, especially her down's syndrome baby? Really? Or will she quit in the middle of her campaign to spend more time with her family. (we can hope can't we?)
