Poll question: World Cup or Winter Olympics
We chose to go to South Africa for the World Cup. Bigger event and neither my wife or I have been to Africa.

2. I'd love to go to the World Cup.
The Olympics are boring as hell, however.

5. I'm the opposite. I find soccer to be less exciting than paint drying.

3. can't do either, but will go to Rio in 2014
i would've chosen the world cup. i love me some futbol and my husband played his whole childhood and throughout his 20s. i get to go to Rio, because there will be several conferences on Latin America, and provided i have a job, someone will pay me to go.

i'm just happy delta screwed me on two flights, and i get to use vouchers to take a trip for my 5th anniversary in june. so, i'll be in a soccer crazy country for the second week of the cup.

4. World Cup is truly global and poor countries can reasonably expect to win. Camaroon in ''90! nt

6. Neither.
If there ever comes a time that I can afford to go anywhere, I'd love to see the world, but sporting events wouldn't be on my itinerary.

7. I guess the travel aspect appeals to some.
I just hope neither event is ever held in this country.

Let some other nation deal with the expenses and headaches.
