600 attendees?
How in the world can a gathering of 600 people merit this much attention?
Quilt and doll conventions gather more people than this.
Why do we care?
Because we are fed a constant diet of bullshit.
Devolution continues.

2. my comparison
A well run TAG SALE can attract more people in a weekend!

My guess also is that 600 number is comparable to how many customers a typical Walmart receives in an hour!

What's all the fuss about? Why does such a tiny gathering merit so much coverage?

3. It kind of makes sense in a world where we send 30,000 more troops to protect America from
one or two hundred "Al Qaidas"

4. The media will not stop pounding the pro-Republican message. They won't stop.
They're not even hiding it.

They're elevating a blip . . . a belch in the grand scheme of things . . . to the level of a 500,000-attended antiwar protest.

They're pushing a pro-Republican, pro-hypercapitalism, pro-Big Business message and they will not stop. Stations like Fox, CNBC and CNN are all on board. Anything that reeks of the slightest hint of progressive/liberal thought must be derided and expeditiously flattened.

What it boils down to is that they will tumble over themselves to steer popular opinion away from this president. They really, really do not like Democrats. AT all. They blame Democrats past and present for all economic and societal ills. Even during the worst of the Bewsh nightmare, they were trying desperately to spin his presidency into a spool of gold.

6. Four people could have shown up, the media would still have dubbed it "important" and "a movement".

7. Ah, but It was a meeting of the leadership.
You qualify for teabagging leadership if you have $600.00 to spend.
