Right-wing blogger loses it after liberal bloggers fact-check him
Edited on Fri Feb-12-10 07:12 AM by ohiodemocratic
right-wing blogger Patterico is really angry. Let me try to summarize what happens.

The New York Times said several times that James O'Keefe, the ACORN crusader, was "dressed as a pimp" in the ACORN offices. Media Matters media critic Eric Boehlert wrote an article telling the NYT to stop saying that because it's been proved that O'keefe was not dressed as a pimp.

Patterico then wrote an article calling Boehlert, and other liberal bloggers "pathetic hacks," saying that the New York Times never said that O'keefe was dressed as a pimp. What the New York Times said, according to Patterico, was that O'keefe "posed" as a pimp, which doesn't necessarily involved dressing in a certain way. But then Boehlert and Marcy Wheeler (of Firedoglake) replied with an excellent blog post fact-checking Patterico, by linking to a NYT article which reads,

"Mr. O’Keefe made his biggest national splash last year when he dressed up as a pimp and trained his secret camera on counselors with the liberal community group Acorn — eliciting advice on financing a brothel on videos that would threaten to become Acorn’s undoing." http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/31/us/politics/31landrieu.html?hp=&pagewanted=all

Now Patterico is saying, and I quote "who fucking cares!" and wonders if the liberal bloggers condone child prostitution. See his rant

1. Their minds are made up, don't confuse the reality challenged with facts.

4. "We care about Republicon lies." - The American people
"I mean, republicon lies have our nation deep in debt for a host of skanky reasons, including a lie-based oil-profits war that never needed to happen and that is costing us trillions of dollars. So yeah, we care about the truth, and we care about the ongoing parade of republicon lies."

5. It's a delicate balance for them.
Every day, facts challenge their beliefs and they have to work harder and harder to overcome the facts they are confronted with. Thankfully for them, they have Faux News to tell them what they want to hear, feeding them enough hate each day offset those pesky facts that keep getting in the way.

Sarah Palin is our savior, the Lower 48 needed her, that's why she sacrificed herself and her family and stepped down as Governor of Alaska. The fact she's now a millionaire, being paid over $100,000 to speak is beside the point. She never wanted that, she was happy being Gov as long as that was what was best for the people. :eyes:

George W. Bush is a smart, brave man who did what he felt was right, no matter what. His oil buddies got rich during his time in office, but he had nothing to do with that. His hatred for Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with the war in Iraq. History will show that Bush was smarter than everyone else. :eyes:

There's a big conspiracy in the liberal media to silence brave people like Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, etc. They are the only ones speaking the truth, and what the others say simply is not true, even though the facts seem to back up the others. See, there's those pesky facts again... :eyes:

The right is really hanging by a thread. Their hatred consumes them, and they must feed the fire every day to keep it going. We're better off with conservatives. Really, we are. The reality that the facts show Republicans normally increase the deficit, spend more on wars, have more corruption scandals, lower the standard of living, and don't create as many jobs when in office are all lies created by those nasty liberals.

Which explains why it's normally a "conservative" who's responsible for shooting innocent people down, blowing up buildings, and doing all the profane things that seem to dot our history.

6. Ooo Do they hate them some fact checking! True believers have absolutely no need for facts.
It's how the wealthy take them for the fools they truly are.

7. Conservative ideology the kicks in to protect themselves from facts. If they admitted to truth
they would crumble.
