NBC to broadcast new reality TV series next week.
In it contestants will do crazy things like chase a small round disc around an ice covered surface with large sticks and try to place it into a net placed at either end of the ice.

In other contestant activities contestants will attempt to travel around that ice at dangerously high speeds in an effort to determine which of the contestants is actually the fastest.

In another activity contestants will travel to the top of a large mountain and then attempt to ride down the mountain at great speeds using special high tech footgear while trying to remain within a proscribed course.

In one activity multiple contestants from the same tribe will ride a sled down an ice track while trying not to fly off the track and suffer serious injuries.

After each of these activities, the activity winner and first and second runners up will each receive a medal. The winner will also be entertained with a playing of his tribe's theme song and a display of his tribe's colors on a banner that will be hoisted above the platform.

In an effort to reduce production costs, this year's season will be hosted from a wilderness location somewhere in Canada.

2. And I am so fucking there....
Especially for the large men on skates with sticks, chasing a rubber disk, attempting to shoot it into a net guarded by another large man with pads, and a larger stick.

Olympic Hockey is simply the greatest game in the world.

GO USA!

8. Love Survivor!!!!
I'm liking this Heroes and Villains thing this year too. Usually there's only 1-2 really interesting people on each season anyways, so to have them all there at once. Let me tell you some sh*t is gonna fly!!! :)

Of course they could put the 20 more boring people out there and I'd still watch, cause the interactions are priceless. It's probably my favorite show of all time an I can't see it ever getting boring for me cause the people are always different.

4. DUzy!
My favorite tribal competition!

I'm fond of the tribes that push the big rock across the ice, sweeping a path with short brooms. . . . I can't do it. There is simply no way to parody curling!

SO..................

USA! USA! USA! Anyone else remember the victory (very squeeked out) over Russia in 1980? THAT was a hell of a hockey series. It's a very serious sport here. Lotsa ice, ya know. :P

6. Don't forget: they're also going to have a crazy-ass version of a dance contest
where the contestants actually have to dance on ice, wearing blades screwed to special boots they wear on their feet.

There will be variations of this contest involving couples doing really crazy-ass stuff like the guy lifting the girl all the way over his head and way up in the air, throwing her into a spin she has to land from on her own, and dragging her around in a circle by one arm. For those without partners, there will be contests requiring them to dance, spin and jump in the air and turn around lots of times before coming down without falling on their ass.

7. And the activity where two strapping young men in tight suits...
lie down on each other and slide down the mountain on a tiny little sled.

Who dreamed up that one?

Sid
