Google search question.
In the search box on google if I put in a quotes mark, it brings up all these things that have previously been searched in quotes. I would like to not have that come up. I have looked through preferences and settings and can't seem to figure out how to get it to stop doing that. Anyone know the trick?

1. Are you searching in your browser toolbar
or at www.google.com?

2. Assuming Firefox, go to Tools -> Options
I think the settings for saving things in forms and searches are located there.

4. It is Options->Privacy - there's a "Nothing" option for "Location Bar", HOWEVER....
It sounds to me like the issue is with the search string box on the Google web site and that's a completely different matter.

8. Not really.
I'm pretty boring but it just feels weird when someone uses my computer and puts something into google and all my searches turn up.

9. Well, it's either Safari's AutoFill feature or Google's Query Suggestions feature.
From your description, it is probably Safari's AutoFill. In Safari's preferences, there should be an icon/tab for AutoFill. You can uncheck the 'Other forms' box (or all of the boxes to disable AutoFill entirely).

If it seems to be Google click on the 'Search Settings' link in the upper-right corner of their main page and go to the bottom of the settings page that comes up. There should be an option to disable Query Suggestions.

If neither of those help, you will probably need to provide more details as to exactly what is happening.
