Edited on Fri Apr-27-07 02:12 AM by jaredh
What are your top three issues that you care about the most?

Mine are:

1. Withdrawal from Iraq, along with general change in US foreign policy.
2. Establishing a single payer national health care system,
3. Labor issues (Repeal NAFTA, minimum wage, etc.)

2. #1 issue - corporate "reform".
#2 The explicit expression that our bodies (particularly women's) are ours and we alone have the right to decide what to do with it.

#1 will solve, or allow us to solve, all of the others.

#2 is needed to clarify, and preserve for all time, this inalienable right.

4. Number one - return income tax brackets to Pre-Reagan rates.
Number two - Single-payer national health-care with a MINIMUM of courporate involvement.

Number three - repeal of NAFTA, paired with tax penalties on companies that offshore, PLUS a requirement that US companies with facilities overseas must pay at least the US minimum wage.

7. My first issue is government reform
I would like to see term limits. Federal financing of elections and a thorough dousing of the beltway.(With gasoline and fire if we have to)

I want a return of the Monroe Doctrine. And a dismantling of the media empires.

Through the electronic voting machines into the harbor. A national holiday for elections. All business closed!!!

10. My priorities...
First, a satisfactory solution to the Iraq situation and the rebuilding and transformation of the military.

Second, a sane immigration policy. STop the flood and return jobs to US.

Third, overhaul NCLB to provide adequate accountability while ending abuses.

16. 1. Peace, 2. Health Care, 3. Education
1. Get out of Iraq. Get out of Afghanistan. Resist the temptation to go into other countries: Somalia, Sudan, etc.

2. Force negotiated drug prices, establish minimum single-payer universal health care.

3. Remove emphasis on preparing for "da test" so we can teach basics, reading, riting, rithmetic. Re-introduce arts, physical fitness. Re-introduce shop and other work-prep programs. Face facts: some will be left behind, but if we have work-prep programs and health care, life is still good.

17. the climate crisis, the climate crisis, the climate crisis
In no particular order. We address that and the underlying social effects and we then begin to fix everything else wrong with this system including addressing the corporatism that stifles truth not just about that, but everything else by returning this Earth to balance. Nothing will be solved in this world by continuing to just throw money at it thinking it will go away. The time has come whatever your issue is to address the social, economic, and political walls that have been inmpeding progress for decades.

25. Saving the middle class and a total overhaul on US foreign policy.
Saving the middle class means
1. Single payer healthcare - or at least put a major smackdown on the insurance companies to begin with.
2. Education - Destroy NCLB and get some decent money available for college.
3. Protect Social Security forever.
4. Protect 401Ks and pensions from corporate raiders.
5. Put the smackdown on banks on credit card companies regarding their preditory lending practices.

US foreign policy
1. Actually work with the rest of the world instead of dictating to them.
2. Work out fair trade instead of free trade agreements.
3. Punish US companies who misbehave in other countries.

31. respect for the Constitution
This leads to:

1. Withdrawal from Iraq (no declaration of war - plain and simple)
2. Muzzling the FCC and its crackdown on broadcasters (goes contrary to the First Amendment)
3. No Supreme Court interference with elections, as in 2000 (violates Federalism principles)
