The right wing hit machine has done its job, with a lot of help from the media.
Somewhere on this fucked up country there are a bunch of pig-faced old white men clustered around a an expensive desk in an expensive office suite celebrating their victory over a harmless organization for poor people which has been investigated 67 times with no findings of wrongdoing.
When I think of Minnesota ACORN's shabby quarters on University Avenue and how they were destroyed I know that this country is totally fucked. All my co-workers know about it is the negative shit they get from the media. I bumped up my donation last fall but they lost to many donors to a bad economy and the media blitz. Even on DU when that spurious video emrged the bloggers were nearly all negative at first. Always ready to buy the neocon lies.
The lessons to be learned from this are many, but the main one is that if you register democrats they will get you one way or another. And they have endless resources to do it. But the main lesson I get from this is being nice gets you nowhere. First there main cheese immediately rolls over and fires people over a phony video, before she even checked the facts. You must be ready to fight back or you will be killed. All means are fair in war and this is war. America only respects those who will fight to the death.

the second the tiniest bit of stupid scandal hit the air are as much to blame as the neo-cons.

By which I mean absolutely everyone that voted for or endorsed the Defund Acorn Act should be ashamed of themselves.
