Ok, need some help from ya'll
I have a friend in Idaho who is an unemployed mother of one. Mid-40s. Yesterday, she had a scare. These are her words "well I had been having chest pains off and on all day going into my back radiating into my shoulder big time and running down my arm
got worse last night
the paramedics came and administered ekg, bp, temp, and nitro, lots of nitro
to get my bp down
put on patch, under the tongue spray and when I got to the hospital I was on a pump...my blood work came back that no heart attack , xray'd me for a blood clot in my lung..that came back ok..lungs looked good"

They want her to follow up with a cardiologist for a stress test and to check for a blockage but without insurance, she cant afford it.

My question to you. Can you think of anything she can do to get help? She lives in Boise.

Thanks for any assistance.

1. Have her check with
the Salvation Army, see if there are any free clinics in the area. Also have her call the local department of human services to see if they know of any help for her.

4. In Idaho dial 211. Supposedly lots of connections for those in
need of all types of help can get proper direction from those at the 211 switchboard.

7. Call the county human services department
they might be able to get you in touch with a help program.

Not a hugely great idea, but a rec and kick for visibility. There are probably better ideas out there...

9. Sometimes the hospitals have social workers
or financial counselors that will know of any programs she is qualified for. Sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen though. I hope she finds help.

11. I want to thank every one of you for
your sincere offers of assistance. My friend was very touched by the outpouring of concern. She is working on some of these possible solutions right now.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
