Why did Dan Rather pay the price for the Killian Memos
But the Bush Administration has yet to reap the consequences that happened because of the Yellowcake Forgeries?

2. Because he opposed the war and BushCo.
Anyone who disagrees gets the boot, from Donohue to O'Donnell to anyone in-between. And they'll use ANY bullshit lie of an excuse (and even whip up the public to BELIEVE the bullshit) --this one had "low ratings" -- that one is "unforgivably offensive" -- the other one made an "unforgivable" journalistic error (not like the one Mike Barnicle made, though--which was outright PLAGIARISM, and he's still on the air) -- yet another was offered "impossible" contract terms.

The only antiwar ones that are allowed to stay in place are those who preach to the ALREADY converted. If your audience is just a bunch of liberal, antiwar Democrats, well, you're fine. But if you reach a broad spectrum of viewers or listeners, that include Democrats AND Republicans, and Independents, and people who are open to listening to compelling arguments and having their minds changed....well, off you go.

The corporations want to keep sucking the Treasury teat for as long as possible. Every day this war continues means they get another payday. Getting rid of voices of dissent SLOWS the dawning of that last day at the trough, and every day is big money for them.

Follow the money. This is the Corporate States of America we live in, sadly.

3. Karma bit Dan Rather in the ass
last night on the Moyers PBS show he more or less admitted that he knew the administration was lying about the yellow cake, the aluminum tubes, the meeting between mohammed atta and the Iraqi in Prague, but kept his mouth shut because he was afraid ofbeing blacklisted. Even after the questions arose about the Killian memos, he sort of half assed apologized for not doing research even though there was basically nothing untrue in the content of the memos. He looked like a schmuck last night.

5. I Was Thinking About That, Myself
It's easier to get a network news anchor fired than it is a president. Especially if said network wants favorable legislation.
