WTF ever happened with this case and GOP Congressman Jerry Lewis???

Brent Wilkes Investigation

Rep. Lewis is also under investigation because of his dealings with Brent Wilkes, the same contractor who went to jail for bribing former Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham (R-CA). After Rep. Cunningham pleaded guilty, Rep. Lewis resisted an independent investigation of Rep. Cunningham’s activities on the Appropriations Committee, stating that his own personal informal review of Rep. Cunningham’s earmarks was satisfactory and that the earmarks Rep. Cunningham doled out were legitimate.

In total, Rep. Lewis has received $88,252 from Mr. Wilkes and his associates, making him the third-highest recipient of campaign contributions from Mr. Wilkes, after former Reps. Cunningham and John Doolittle (R-CA).

1. And while we are at it
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CASE AGAINST TOM DELAY....I read somewhere that since the supreme court ruled that corporations were people and could contribute all they wanted, the case against DeLay could be thrown out.

Now I disagree. If when he committed the crime, this law was not in effect and he was supposed guilty. I just don't get how he can string this along and when a Democrat does something they try, convict and lock him up.

2. What ever happend to......?
These cases deliberately get strung along for such a long time, that the "others" gradually step away from the stink, and when asked later, just say..."that?" oh that was a long time ago, and since it;s an ongoing investigation/litigation, I cannot comment"..how 'bout that "........." football/baskketball/baseball team?"

7. I'm still waiting for them to go after the older Duncan Hunter...
He had a similar real estate scandal that Duke Cunningham did (got to have his insurance firm pay far greater money back for his burned down house than what it was assessed at and he paid taxes on), has had ties through committees to many of the same defense firms and likely the corrupt ones that Wilkes, etc. were tied to in the San Diego area, and I'd heard a rumor directly from the candidate who ran against him before Carol Lam was fired right after the election, that they were preparing to indict him, but that they were going to wait until after the election to do so. I guess he lucked out when folks like Wilkes and Foggo didn't, who she got indicted a few days before leaving office.

And he helped Blackwater sneak into San Diego area too, as well as having his brother who worked as a VP for a San Diego development firm (one of the biggest Republican contributors in that area) get a sweet real estate deal in a "lottery" on property that was sold off by the military to that firm to develop.

Good to hear that Wilkes is going to get it stuck to him. I still find it insidious that they let Wilkes go attend his daughter's graduation with an ankle bracelet on, but they didn't find any way to let Don Siegelman associate Ron Minor to visit his wife who had terminal cancer or to attend her funeral.

The justice system really sucks now.
