"We need to work harder to get the message out"
"We need to work harder at communicating to the American people...what we're doing, etc." Valerie Jarrett, Sr. Presidential adviser, just used these words on CNN - I've heard these phrases used in the B*sh administration as well. I've heard them used by Robert Gibbs too. Every time I hear these (empty) phrases, it sounds like they think we the American people "just don't understand", so they need to "communicate it better" to us...

Maybe I'm just too sensitive, but it bothers me.

1. They are being deliberately dense, cuz trust me, the People have gotten the message, loud & clear!
Wake up DC. It's not that the People haven't gotten your message, it's that the People aren't buying it.

2. I agree, but to do that, Obama & all the Dems need to find
short simple words & phrases to do so.

I'm not siding with the Pubs by saying this, but I think we all have to admit they do a better job at getting people to undrestand what they're talking about. EVEN IF THEY'RE LIES!

People aren't stupid, but a lot of them simply don't pay a lot of attention, or have the time to check things out.

Almost everybody was confused about what was really in the HC Bills. EVEN ME! And I DO take the time to check, listen to pregressive radio all the time, and listen to MSNBC & CNN. One reason was because it was constantly changing, but another reason was becasue it wqas so complex & intertwined. I remember when Howard dean said we should do something that is simple, like Medicare for everybody. People know it. Those who have it like it. And some of the things that are wrong with it right now, like not paying fair rates to Drs & hosps could be fixed. People wouldn't have all those questions, and the opposers wouldn't be able to say "there's death panes in there" either!

3. Rather than "get the message out" I suggest they need to "get the LEAD out"
and DO WHAT THEY PROMISED TO DO.

Time and time again, Democrats have allowed the Republicans to frame the issues, create the message, and delay legislation. Enough is enough! Americans are tired of the crap, which is why we voted in 2006 and 2008 for CHANGE.

We want regulations and oversight.

We want single payer health care.

We want transparency.

We want Gitmo closed.

We want the wars to end.

We want job creation.

We want less attention spent on Wall Street and more focus on Main Street.

In short, we want WHAT WE WERE PROMISED DURING THE CAMPAIGN. And any movement to the right, or opposite of what we were promised will be a problem in future elections. DO WHAT YOU PROMISED, and everything will be OK.

5. Yes. It's not the PERCEPTION that's the problem -
it's the REALITY.

4. First step is to have a message to get out, understand what you are doing and

who you are trying to communicate with.

So much effort is spent on trying to please the Republicans while no effort at all is spent on the Democratic Left and we actually voted these guys into office.

Harder to communicate when what you are trying to say makes no sense.

6. Sounds like chimpy whinnig about the press and not
getting his message out. Did it ever occur to these asshats that we hear the message and it is being rejected? What don't they understand. Do they think we are that stupid? Either way, whether the spending freeze is a cheap trick that freezes nothing or is real and freezes spending in the middle of a depression with unemployment approaching 20% is disastrously stupid.
