When you watch the Republican Response tonight look for the Military men and women
After the State of the Union address tonight the Republicans will give their response. In an attempt to give legitimacy to the scene they will have about 300 people in the audience and it will include Military Officers.

Every one of those persons in uniform that show up should hand in their resignation tomorrow morning or face Dishonorable Discharge. Its the Uniform they wear that will make this a display of contempt for the Commander in Chief and certainly an offense against military rules of conduct that is unacceptable and deserving of immediate and harsh response.

6. Can one hold a "partisan political event" in a state legislature building?
I thought government buildings could not be used for such activities.

5. No, I will not "Chill Out". they are going to disgrace their Uniform, fuck them, kick them out.
As individuals they can have any idiotic opninion they want, but when they put on the Uniform in public they represent the Nation and they have no right what so ever to figuratively tell their Commander in Chief to go fuck himself.

8. Well, it's not like Obama's going to have similar military decoration at his speech
He will, just like every other president.

Not only that, but he's going to be sacrificing the good of the people on the altar of war in this speech, and do so by using his military props as cover.

Do you want those military props discharged as well, or only the ones that show up in the response because they're not on your side.

Hypocrisy much?

10. What part of 'Commander in Chief' do you not get?
When a uniformed member of the military takes a public stand against his CIC, is in in violation of military discipline. It is in the UCMJ.

They are free to do whatever they like, on their own time and out of uniform.

Where does the UCMJ make it a violation to support the president?

12. Just to be clear -
they can support whoever the fuck they want. But they do it on their own time and not in uniform. When in uniform they are not speaking for themselves but for the service. It is the uniform that is speaking, not the man.

When an enlisted man passes an officer on the sidewalk, he salutes. He may be in complete agreement with that officer's politics, or he may be diametrically opposed to that officer's policies. He salutes. He is not saluting the man, or the policies. He is saluting the uniform. Refusing to salute because he thinks the officer is an idiot is not an option.

Same thing.

It is perfectly permissible to show support for the President while in uniform. It is respect for the office. It is perfectly permissible to show opposition to the President while not in uniform. It is the serviceman's right. It is NOT permissible to show opposition to the President while IN uniform - that is a violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice - disrespect for a superior officer.

It's really not that complicated.
