Senate Roll Call Vote on establishing a bi-partisan deficit cutting commission


Statement of Purpose: To establish a Bipartisan Task Force for Responsible Fiscal Action, to assure the long-term fiscal stability and economic security of the Federal Government of the United States, and to expand future prosperity and growth for all Americans.

1. Is this the version that : When the Commission completes the reports
it to Senate, the Senate must vote UP or DOWN. They accept
it as is with no ability to ammend or make corrections????

4. Just read a crawl at Fox News. 60 votes required for the Conrad
Gregg Version. Did not pass.

The fact that the Senate had to accept the whole package with
no opportunity to make ammendaments or corrections was enough
to stop anything.

To leave the SS, Medicare and Medicaid to a final decision
by an outside commission was not good, IMO.
