Modern use of the word filibuster..

Does EVERYONE on this site understand.. it is no longer a "Mr Smith Goes to Washington" moment..

It just means being forced to pass a cloture call .. I.E. to close the debate.. Ya need 60 votes in the senate to force the senate to vote on a bills passage.. an up or down vote needing 50+ the VP to pass. All the talk about forcing the senate to filibuster single payer is meaning less.. there would never be close to 60 votes to pass cloture on that issue.. with Brown now in.. any new vote in the senate on health care would be dead due to inability to pass cloture.. IF the house does not pass what the senate passed.. no health bill till lord knows when.. 15 years or so... maybe..
