Just a tax suggestion for those corporate "persons".
Now that they are officially people, they should be taxed like we are, on our gross income. Forget this gross income and net income BS. Make them pay taxes on their gross receipts before expenses and other tax give aways. We don't get to deduct our expenses before we pay taxes. The same rules should apply to corporations now that they have personhood.

1. Not so much
If you start a business and buy a widget for $7, then sell it for $10, you most certainly get a deduction for the $7 you spent. Ask anybody who sells on eBay. It's not a corporate benefit. Any business gets to deduct their reasonable expenses against gross income.

4. Yes, any business, but these corporations have now been declared persons and
from what I understand the regular main street businesses are not. Let the IRS rules for individuals filing taxes apply.

5. Actually we all get to deduct those expenses. I'm with you in principle, but this particular argumen
argument doesn't work.

11. Well the Supreme Court's argument or decision doesn't work for me either.

You are trying to make common sense out of something that makes no sense. I'm just advancing the flawed premise of this a little bit further.

9. Yes, they do because they are a business, however, if they want to
become persons then they should pay taxes just like you and I do.

2. When a corporation commits murder, who gets executed: the entire Board of Directors or just
the CEO?

When a corporation dies, who inherits the estate?

Can a corporation run for office?

If elected, would MoveOn serve?

HMMMM?

3. We could have had only one prop here in Oregon and saved money that way too!
... and raised more taxes to boot!

8. If they're "persons" ... can they get the Death Penalty for
murder?

10. I would hope so. Is there a DA out there willing to test it?
