Enough with the henhouse bitchiness over Martha Coakley's campaign
That goes for people on both sides of this argument.

Yes, Martha Coakley ran a lackluster campaign compared to Scott Brown's. Yes, she made a baseball gaffe. If that bugs you so much, just remember that she'll only be in the Senate for two years finishing out what should have been Ted Kennedy's term, and if she still isn't to your liking in 2012, you can replace her with whomever you like. If memory serves me right, Coakley had to defeat other Democrats in a primary not too long ago just to run against Brown to begin with.

As for those clucking their tongues and labelling anyone who would dare criticize Coakley as a teabagger or a Naderite, we know exactly what sort of game you're playing, and it got old a long time ago. Honest dissent is still the highest form of patriotism, so instead of bitching at Coakley's critics, get out and vote, phonebank, or whatever you can do in support of Coakley. Self-righteous bashing of progressive Democrats won't endear you to anyone here.

Martha Coakley is our contestant in the Massachusetts Special Election for US Senate. Vote her into office, shut down Brown, and let's move on to the next chapter.

3. Ever been in a henhouse?
It's not sexism, if that's what you're thinking - it's just a reference to the ambient noise.

17. sorry, its historical use is indeed one of sexism.

your saying that it's all about the noise in a hen house doesn't change that it's sexist.

24. Erm, Henhouse, referring to female chickens. Bitchiness, from the name for a female dog
and implies women's meritless anger.

Care to reframe that?

I will never 'lighten up' about sexism, racism, homophobic bigotry in any form even on forums like DU.

Have a nice day derby.

...but try to remember that a hologram looks a little bit different to every observer.

And what I did was not sexist.

And this debate only detracts from the fact that Martha Coakley needs to win tonight.

30. Look, the bitch belongs in jail.
If I were a Mass. resident I would still vote for her, for national reasons, but the simple fact is that we got what we deserved. In the arrogance of thinking we couldn't lose, we nominated a woman who is insider scum, who belongs in jail.. for the Amirault case among others.

The clear lesson is don't get arrogant.. nominate good candidates.
