1. Low turnout usually favors republicans. BTW What kind of voting machines are used in Mass?
Edited on Mon Jan-18-10 06:02 PM by LaPera
Republicans absentee voting is infamously higher than democratic.

Got to get out the Democratic vote, somehow!

18. Ones with a known security flaw
Apparently with a little deft manipulation these particular machines are well-suited towards nearly undetectable vote count alteration.

Have fun at the polls!

3. "Bitter Winter Storm" My Ass
I drove to work today, my 45-minute drive started at 8:30. No problems. I live right near Boston, roads were fine.

10. We drove to 128 and took the train into the city to volunteer for Boston Cares.
Some of the roads were pretty bad, but not so terrible.

5. I don't buy it
So there's a video of an empty phone bank. Who says it wasn't taken at three in the morning right after they set it up?

The blog you've cited certainly isn't an uninterested party.

8. I had same thought. They also could have just put Coakley signs just about anywhere.
If that *is* a Coakley phone bank, it speaks to a security breach if Repukes are wandering around with cellphone cameras.

15. We'll proably find out month's later after the slimy deed has already been accomplished.
Republicans will and must cheat in close elections.

11. People can "phone bank" at home
All you need is a few pages of names and phone numbers and your own phone. Many campaigns have websites set up where campaign volunteers can get that info.

20. You want to organize the circular firing squad for us?
The Democrats have fucked up, collectively, as a team. The answer does not lie in shatter shooting charges of treason into our own ranks. The answer lies in digging in, increasing the attacks on Republicans, and spending more time organizing.

16. Dont't be fooled. This is right wing propagnda
The Franklin Alliance, which provided the video, is one of a number of well funded right wing front groups that have sprung up in the last year. The founder of the group was a leader of Americans for Limited Government, which has spent lavishly to promote "citizens" tax rollback initiatives around the country. The Franklin Alliance has enough cash to hire paid staff and open offices all across the nation. There is corporate money behind these groups; lots of corporate money. It comes from people like T.Boone Pickens, Richard Mellon Scaife, Aubrey McClendon and a lot of other rich men interested in moving the country to the right.

17. That's good to know. Thanks!
In any case, the one thing this SHOULD do is make Brown supporters complacent and Coakley supporters spurred to action.

19. Sadly, that's not how humans work.
These zombies people don't get complacent. They don't get tired, they don't give up, they never surrender. They just keep marching, marching at us, day and night, never slowing down--never relenting. They're not humans! They're the terminators!
