If you want centrist policies, then...

... you have to be able to focus attacking progressives with any smear you can pull out of your ass.

Focus on bush* era philosophies like winning the "hearts and minds" of prospective voters to support 'pragmatic' policies and candidates, even if you know they won't work.

AND focus on the short run fight of winning elections of candidates who can win elections today, even if they stand for nothing at all, because winning is EVERYTHING.

DON'T abandon the strongest effort we've seen in 50 years to negate progress on progressive policies because it didn't all happen in the first year. And in a bizarre fit of outrage make sure you bring up Dennis Kucinich in some vague personal attack.

What I'm seeing from many of the Dem party's centrist group is just insane, self destructive, tea-party mentality. Policies still must have votes, candidates must still have voters. And this country is dominated by SWING voters picking a side in any given election, so who needs an energized base?

Watching the centrists gain their resolve to follow a sports team mentality instead of principles, the ones that Obama lied about to win his historic election, of promoting progressive policies that energized the base... in favor of an unprincipled, tea-party approach is among the most stupid things I've witnessed in politics (but we'll do it anyway).

We are seeing the centrists go George Bush circa 2001 (post 9/11) all over again.

It's like history means nothing.

8. I admit I hadn't read the other thread.
So I'll resubmit my remark and change it to:

Oh gawd not this shit again!

It can apply to both, since neither is productive....or should I say progressive.

People! Quit with the us or them junk and remember this is a "we" establishment. We got the Democratic president elected and "we" can keep our majorities and "we" can do it again.

9. The first rule of a proper broad-brush attack thread...
By changing the names you can just about make it fit any group you don't like. That was the point of this copy-cat thread.

Thanks for getting it.

2. centrist is too kind a label. The DLC's goal is to be the go-to corporate compliant party
and they use semi-progressive window dressing to get votes.

7. LOL! It's not meant to be taken seriously. I just slightly tweaked an anti-progressive thread.
That poster loves calling progressives 'tea-baggers'. I just used his/her own words.
