Any rantings from Baron Harkonnen since he tweaked the media
last week? Is the silence deafening? Just wondering what evil is being brewed on Giedi Prime now.

2. Limbaugh. Has he reared his ugly head since he was shouted down?

10. Amusing, geeky reference to the vile and disgusting villian in Dune
and a very funny comparison to Limbaugh who called his moronic statements about Haiti 'tweaking the media'.

3. My husband heard a commentator ....
who said that all of the right wing "pundits" who usually follow Limbaugh in lock step in whatever he says have been silent on this one. It seems like he is out there alone. There are lines even he can't cross. Nothing is going to mitigate what he said or says with the images from Haiti seared into people's brains. He has shown himself to be a know nothing racist and a sadist to boot. I hope he loses his show and doesn't let the door hit his big butt on the way out.

4. The Compleat Republicon Draft Dodger, Rush jumped the shark on this
Edited on Sun Jan-17-10 06:50 AM by SpiralHawk
The Draft-Dodging leader of the Republicon Party, who gets paid $400 million to parrot republicon corporate propaganda to the proles, will not spare a centavo for the sick, injured, dying or starving -- and then acts all sMarMy about it -- encouraging others to hoard their wealth. Somewhere, Jesus is barfing at the thought of all these republicon chickenhawks claiming to be 'godly.'

5. You've got that right!
I don't know what Jesus would do, but I would sure like him to sit on the end of that cigar that is lit.

12. Back atcha.
Love that series of books and the original movie. Speaks to humanity in all its glory and ills and its convuluted way of organizing itself. Brilliantly constructed mirror to all that is hideous about power and faith.

13. Oh, I love it.

I'm in the middle of reading it all over again, including the prequels and the tweeners by Herbert's son and that other guy, and doing it in chronological order. Slightly jarring when switching styles from the son to the father and back, but the story is so rich and the characters are so alive in my imagination that it's not all that difficult to get past.

Baron Harkonnen is such a sledgehammer metaphor for everything wrong with the 'civilized' human animal and the comparison to Mr Limbaugh could not be more apt.

(EDIT: I spel gud.)

7. That is perfect.
Who would you say Obama is, Duke Leto Atreides or Muad'Dib?

11. Duke Leto Atreides, because too many
are willing to sacrifice a decent man for their own agendas. Muad'Dib has yet to awaken.
