QUOTATION OF THE DAY

JARRY EMMANUEL, the air logistics officer for the World Food Program, after his groups planes were diverted so the United States could land planes with troops and equipment.

1. There are a lot of priorities competing for limited landing slots.
I'm sure the mission of the World Food Program in Haiti is important...but so are missions providing medical care, communications, rescue personnel/equipment, infrastructure, security, etc.

I understand how getting your landing slot bumped might piss somebody off, but I haven't seen any evidence that (in light of the limited ability to land airplanes) anybody's priorities are "out of sync".
