As I understand it, the health care legislation gives the states a fair amount
of leeway. If you want to see improvements in access to health care in your community and state, that's the place to focus your efforts.

This legislation is going to be enacted. You now have a choice as to whether to try and make things better or.... not.

1. That's what interests me most
"There has also been little news coverage of Sanders' fight to allow states waivers so they can move forward with their own "health insurance concepts, including single-payer." Such language is now in the Senate bill and Sanders is still working with Senator Ron Wyden to strengthen it. That is exactly how Canada developed its healthcare system, with a successful program incubated in Saskatchewan. This provision is actually stronger in the Senate bill--it didn't make it into the House version. " Link to The Nation

I hope this is true and that Sanders and Wyden can keep this language in the final bill.
