the concerted offensive against progressives who oppose the health insurance giveaway...
Where was this commitment, anger, and PR effort when it could have moved the public and the congress to enact real reform?

3. I often thought, the type of campaign that could get a black man elected in a racist idiocracy could
...sell real reform.

We know what Obama is capable of. He could have the people on the streets if congress wasn't meeting the mustard. But does he care enough?

6. Imagine him coming into office that first month...
holding up a simple 8 page single-payer bill that he will get someone to sponsor in Congress. He says, "either this is on my desk to sign in 2 weeks, or we will take to the streets, cancel our insurance, have a general strike, and let those people know...let them know...it isn't a seat at the dinner table we want. Its merely the scraps. And now its time to demand them!"

7. I wonder why he didn't appeal to the people.
FDR did, and it made all the difference.

If he had simply said, "On day X and time X, go to your local City Hall and demonstrate in favor of comprehensive health care reform," I think the show would have made the Teabaggers look pathetic.

11. That's pretty much what I think, too.
He didn't appeal to the People because he had already appealed and was beholding to Wall Street.

Democracy is going to continue to lose until we get the corporations out of government.

It's like we're following the Doctrine of Manifest Dystopia.

15. I signed petitions, wrote letters and all of that just like you.
We were out there working. Some prefer to ignore that people were fighting for single payer/public option.

12. Less than 33% of the Americqan People support MANDATES...
...without a Public Option.

Obama COULD have led a MOVEMENT.
Obama COULD have been a contender for BEST. President. Ever.

He blew it.
There are only two possibilities.
1) He is incompetent.

OR

2)He is a DLC Corporate Ringer.

I don't believe he is incompetent.

13. If they had fixed the Patriot Act,... Fixed the FISA Act....
prosecuted torture and quit spying on Americans.. I might have been naive enough to believe that they could fix this POS Bill at a later date.

Now I say.... not just no... HELL NO. We have been sold down the river....and we didn't even get kissed first...

16. This "real reform" is in the same category as all the "weapons of mass destruction"
we found in Iraq and all of the "principled" Blue Dogs in Congress.

18. Good point. A Dem forum with anger toward activists.
And no anger toward an administration and congress selling out to big corporations.
