2. "Why lie? I want a beer." - Actual cardboard sign.
I've got the picture somewhere. It was from several years ago. I just liked the guy's honesty.

5. True story from 1985. The begger in Georgetown.
Edited on Wed Dec-23-09 10:24 AM by HopeHoops
I forget what inspired us to go to Georgetown when it wasn't bar-hopping time, but we were there during the day, late afternoon. We passed a guy wrapped in a blanket with a cardboard sign that read "I'm hungry." One of the guys in our group suggested we get him a sandwich. Anyway, as we passed back by, he was fishing around in a rather expensive looking canvas backpack hidden under the blanket. What made us laugh was that he spotted us, quickly tried to conceal the backpack, put his sign back on his lap and assumed his best puppy dog face.
